586 – Victor Indrizzo: Courage Over Everything

Victor Indrizzo, who’s 30-year career spans working with Queens of the Stone Age, Willie Nelson, Scott Weiland, Alanis Morissette, Macy Gray and a slew of others, is a successful studio and touring drummer…who never thought he’d make it to where he is.

Growing up in Los Angeles, Indrizzo had dreams of becoming a professional musician but never felt like he had the talent to actually get there. What makes Victor so unique is that although he dealt with self-doubt (like all of us) he had to courage to go for it anyway. One foot in front of the other, through hard work and dedication to his craft, Indrizzio now looks back at a career in music and a resume that any drummer would be proud of.

Victor Indrizzo talks about:

  • Picking up a love of music and drums at an early age
  • Music being his escape from a difficult childhood
  • How he gets into the character and emotion of a song
  • His approach to learning new things that overwhelm him
  • His advice for people struggling with addiction or depression
