615 – Tal Bergman: Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover

Tal Bergamn may look the part of a rock drummer, but that’s a stigma he’s been focused on dispelling his entire career. The Israeli born drummer started his studying at a young age and was doing session work by the time he was 12 before moving to the US in his twenties. Yes, he’s well versed in rock but also made it a point to land gigs and sessions in all styles of music, including work with: Joe Zawinul, Billy Idol, Chaka Khan, B.B. King, Rodger Daltry, Loreena McKennitt, Sammy Hagar, Simple Minds, Josh Groban, Joe Bonamassa, and a long list of others (view full credits).

Tal’s focus on working hard, staying ready and pushing his own personal limits every day have served him well over the years and continue to drive his career as a drummer, composer and producer.

Tal Bergman talks about:

  • What drew him to move from Israel to the U.S.
  • His early musical influences
  • How he stays positive during the quarantine
  • Methods he uses to continue learning
  • His advice to fellow drummers
