Luis Conte

146 – Luis Conte: The life and times of a world class percussionist.

In this podcast I talk to Luis Conte, who is arguably one of the greatest percussionists of our time. Bon in Santiago, Cuba, Conte fled Cuba as a refugee, finally landing him in Los Angeles. Since established on the scene, Luis has graced stages and albums all over the world with artists including: Madonna, Ray Charles, Phil Collins, Santana, Shakira, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Dave Matthews Band, Sergio Mendes, Cachao, and a multitude of other artists too numerous to mention – earning himself 57 Grammy nominations in the making.

Luis’ story is one of the most interesting I’ve heard in a long time and I’m excited to share it with you. Enjoy!
