262 – How to learn a song list for a last minute gig

Once in a while you get called for a last minute gig, which means you’ll probably have to learn 30 songs in 3 days and or course, you also have a million other things going on. I used to cram everything in my brain, only to forget half the stuff I practiced once I got to the gig. I’ve since developed a system that has served me well over the years. This system is great for learning a ton of songs in a short amount of time. Think of it as the cliffs notes version of song learning.

NOTE: This ins’t how I learn tunes for a tour or a situation where I have more time to learn the tunes and/or there are multiple rehearsals involved.
