571 – In memory of Khari Parker

This episode originally aired on May 27, 2019, and we’re re-releasing it to celebrate the memory of Khari Parker. Khari was a pro, in every sense of the word. He had an ongoing dedication to learning his craft, he honored the tradition of the music and continued to be a student, understanding that music is a never-ending journey. From long tenures with Destiny’s Child to George Benson, from brushwork to blistering chops, Khari could do it all with authenticity and class.

Although Khari was an amazing musician, that’s the tip of the iceberg of who he was as a person. Kind, warm, genuine, and funny all come to mind when his name is mentioned. The true testament of a person’s character is the way they treat others and Khari treated everyone like he had been friends with them for years. He was a father, a husband, a friend and a beacon of light, gone way too soon.
