572 – Fred Armisen: It’s NEVER too late

Drummer, Actor, Comedian, Writer and Producer Fred Armisen took a circuitous route to becoming a successful entertainer. From touring in a van with his band, to self-producing comedy skits and earning his stripes as a stand-up comedian, Fred has done it all.

His career was jumpstarted when he landed a role on Saturday Night Live and has evolved into an acting career in both movies and television. What’s better is that he may have the best job in the world as both a successful actor AND the house drummer for Late Night with Seth Myers.

No matter where Fred goes there will always be music, and more specifically, drums in his life because, to quote Fred himself…

“God, what’s better than the drums?”

Fred Armisen talks about:

  • Struggling to make it as a drummer in a band in his early career
  • Starting acting in his 30s
  • His advice to young artists and the lessons he’s learned
  • Finding the balance between staying busy and keeping things low-key
  • The projects he’s working on now
