For most of us drummers, we’re considered sidemen or “work for hire” musicians. The downside is that our career is often left in other people’s hands and we wait for the phone to ring for gigs. No phone call? No gigs. Over the past few months I’ve had more and more conversations (3 yesterday, in fact) about drummers not having gigs or not knowing how to get gigs.
