591 – Benny Greb: Effective Practicing for Musicians
As far as I’m concerned, Benny Greb is one of the thought leaders on effective practicing. Admittedly, Greb was a slow learner when he was a young player and needed to develop his practicing skills (yes, practicing is a skill). Because of this, Greb is recognized as one of the most respected drummers in the world and has released a slew of music projects and instructional videos, and has performed clinics all over the world sharing his gift.
Now, through this podcast and his new book, we get to take a deep dive into Benny’s creative process, how he developed an effective practice routine for himself and how you can, too.
Benny Greb talks about:
- How he manages himself and his standards of work
- How to know when to let go of a project or keep pursuing it
- His thoughts and methods of practice
- How lessons he learned in music apply in other aspects of life
