297 – Just DO IT!

You cannot build a reputation on things you’re going to do. If you want to achieve something you have to have movement. You have to always be doing and executing.  It’s a long game but you have to start now…JUST DO IT!

Going out and doing it! That’s been my motto for the last year thanks to YOU Nick and this podcast.

I’m moving to LA from San Diego in a week from today. Sept. 1 and my plan is laid out well thanks to this podcast and http://www.biggerbettergigs.com/.

I’ll be going out every night to ‘network’ and meet people. Actions, relationships, calls, emails…I’m just gonna do it.

You and your guests have allowed me to imagine what to expect, now I’m ready to run the experiments. I’m taking all the risks and expecting the rewards later than sooner, but like your story in this podcast about the drummer who met someone their first night in LA…That will be cool, but I’m in for the long haul.

I just started reading Win Friends-Influence People book (your recommendation)…it’s all about relationships. My wife of 10 years doesn’t want to move to LA. We’ve decided to become unmarried, amicably…my idea, my dream, my risk. I’m doing it!

Another good quote of the day?
“Never confuse movement with action.” – Ernest Hemingway

I’ll teach more drum lessons and drive Uber more so I can afford the parking fees and ‘cover charge’ at all the doors I’ll be going to each night in LA until I find a paying gig (or several) drumming.

Maybe a comfortable tour too! You’ve suggested finding my first tour can take 2 or 3 years when first landing in LA. I’m totally in for the long haul. I don’t care. It’s the journey!!

Thank you Nick for all you do. You’ll never know how much you’ve really helped me. The podcasts, the guests…I’m inspired.

Dave, this is so awesome, man! (never mind the “where do you live” question in my other comment)

I’m so happy to hear that you’re chasing it (although, sorry to hear about the divorce.)

Go get what’s yours…you got this!
