161 – Josh Dion: Multitasking Art

In this podcast I chat with Josh Dion, a drummer I’ve known about for years but finally got a chance to get him on the show. Josh and I ran in the same circles back in the early 2000s and he’s blown me away since the first I ever saw him play. Josh is one of those “you gotta see him live” type of players. Why? Because he’s a bad ass drummer and singer…oh, did I mention that he also plays keyboards while he’s singing and playing? Yup, pretty insane. A true artist to the core, Josh’s infectious love for music, groove and authenticity project in every single note he plays.

“Art is making something out of nothing and selling it.” – Frank Zappa (Tweet this)

In this podcast, Josh Dion talks about:

  • How he got started playing
  • The development of his playing
  • How / why he incorporated keys into his playing
  • The effects that internet / streaming sites have on artists’ revenue
  • Advice for others learning multiple instruments
  • His approach to groove / feel /time / musicality
  • Much more
