207 – Should you take every gig?

It’s always said that you should “take every gig” because it gives you experience and you “never know who’s going to be at the show.” While I agree with this if you’re a beginner drummer or band, I disagree if you’re more of an established band trying to build your career.

It’s based on the principles of what’s known as the Eisenhower Decision Matrix (sounds more complicated than it is) to determine if something is worth your time.

“Plans are nothing, but planning is indispensable.” – Dwight D. Eisenhower (Tweet this)

Dream Cymbals: Dream Cymbals are a different kind of cymbal company because they keep it simple. Their approach is simple: Make high-quality, handcrafted cymbals and gongs and sell them for a reasonable price. PLUS, you can bring your old cymbals (even if they’re cracked) and trade them in for a new Dream Cymbal. For every inch of cymbal you bring in, you get $1 off your cymbal. Have a broken 20″ crash? Trade it in for $20 off your next Dream Cymbal. The coolest part is they recycle the old, broke cymbals and use the material to make their crotales and crop circles. Check them out at DreamCymbals.com
