454 – Matt Starr: Building a career from the ground up

We can all learn from Matt Starr’s story. As a struggling musician well into his 30s, Matt had a realization that he was on the wrong path and after taking some personal inventory, Matt put a different plan in place. His newly formed plan proved to be the right one, leading to gigs with Ace Frehley (KISS), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow), Kevin DuBrow (Quiet Riot) and most recently alongside Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert in Mr. Big. He has also worked with members of Guns ‘n Roses, Bon Jovi and Whitesnake. Not only does Matt continue to play high-profile gigs, he’s also a mentor and coach to aspiring musicians who want to learn the business and follow in his footsteps of achieving their dreams.
