471 – Daxx Nielsen (Cheap Trick) Like Father, Like Son
Daxx Nielsen, drummer for Cheap Trick, may have a famous last name (he’s the son of Cheap Trick’s lead guitarist and lead singer, Rick Nielsen) but he’s always set out to make a name for himself. Never one to “drop” his father’s name, through hard work and thousands of gigs Daxx carved out quite the career for himself. So much so that Bun E. Carlos requested that Daxx fill in for him in Cheap Trick while he was out with an injury. Daxx eventually joined the band full time in 2010.
Prior to joining Cheap Trick, Daxx spent years touring and recording with artists, including: Brandi Carlile, Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons, The Smashing Pumpkins, and numerous others
