510 – Connecting the dots of your career

Steve Jobs famously said that we can only connect the dots looking backward. It’s easy for us to understand how one relationship that started years prior resulted in a gig today or how a random meeting can turn into a new band, project or opportunity. So how do we connect these dots moving forward? We put as many dots as we can on the map and connect them sometime in the future.

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
