188 – “10 Things that require ZERO talent” – DEBUNKED

There has been a meme floating around the internet that lists “10 things that require zero talent.” In this session I break down the difference between talent and skill and why this list is misleading at best.

“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.” – Stephen King (Tweet this)

10 Things that require zero talent:

  1. Being on time
  2. Work ethic
  3. Effort
  4. Body language
  5. Energy
  6. Attitude
  7. Passion
  8. Being coachable
  9. Doing extra
  10. Being prepared

“Talent you have naturally…skill comes from hours and hours of beating on your craft” – Will Smith (Tweet this)

“If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time you’re late…and if you’re late, don’t bother coming” –  (Tweet this)

Dream Cymbals: Dream Cymbals are a different kind of cymbal company because they keep it simple. Their approach is simple: Make high-quality, handcrafted cymbals and gongs and sell them for a reasonable price. PLUS, you can bring your old cymbals (even if they’re cracked) and trade them in for a new Dream Cymbal. For every inch of cymbal you bring in, you get $1 off your cymbal. Have a broken 20″ crash? Trade it in for $20 off your next Dream Cymbal. The coolest part is they recycle the old, broke cymbals and use the material to make their crotales and crop circles.
