340 – Marcus Gilmore: Drumming royalty makes his own name

Marcus Gilmore is a decedent of drumming royalty. His grandfather is the great Roy Haynes and for most people that’d be a cross to bear. Marcus was never intimidated by his grandfather’s presence, though and was inspired to make his own name. Over the years his initiative has proven effective and Marcus has create a career for himself, evolving into one of the most recognized jazz drummers in his own right.
