253 – [Listener Spotlight] Jeremy Schreifels: Whatever it takes

I’m doing something different and shifting the focus to the DR community with this new segment: Listener Spotlight. This first spotlight session is with longtime listener Jeremy Schreifels, who’s a full-time player, producer and arranger in Minnesota, all while balancing being a full-time dad, spending many long nights on the road and flying in and out of Nashville for sessions. We’ve become friends over the past few years and I’m excited to feature him on the podcast. Tune in to hear how he finally took the leap to play professionally full-time and how he strings a living together with multiple irons in the fire.

Jeremy Schreifels talks about:

  • How he got into playing
  • His journey though HS and marching band
  • Writing for marching and other ensembles
  • An almost career ending injury
  • Recovering from injury
  • How patience paid a large part in his recovery and further development
  • A typical day / week in the life of a ground-level pro
  • Much more
