180 – 5 creative ways to use your rudiments

This is a quick session designed to give you actionable ways to put into your playing today. Most of the time, we learn a rudiment on the pad but there seems to be a breakdown when it comes to moving the rudiment to the kit. PLUS, once we move it to the kit we often struggle to find ways to use the rudiments musically and creatively. These 5 tips are ways that I’ve taken rudiments (and other patterns) and applied them to the kit and developed them to the point where they can be used in a musical context.

If you’re looking for more creative ideas, I suggest picking up a FREE copy of my ebook “Stick Control Variations – 11 creative exercises to help you develop your chops, independence and speed. Grab the book here.
