038 – 7 Secrets for Highly Effective Practice

When I was just getting started with drumming I never thought much about my practice routine and whether or not it was “effective practice”  I was so happy to be behind the kit wailing away I that I didn’t care what I was playing…as long as I was playing.

As the years started to go by I was doing a lot of research on drummers and was going to see a lot of drummers live and felt inspired to do everything that I could to get better.  One of the ways that I knew to get better was to practice, which seemed easy enough because I love to practice.  The only problem was, I felt like I wasn’t getting better at the speed that I wanted to.  Things that were great in the practice room weren’t making their way into my playing and I felt like I was stagnating.  I didn’t know what the problem was then, but now I do – I was wasn’t engaging in effective practice.

Once I realized (with the help of a lot of research and insights from other drummers) that my practice routine wasn’t designed correctly, it changed my entire outlook. Since then I started to analyze my practicing and kept track of what worlds, what doesn’t work, what others drummers do, etc etc.

In this podcast “7 Secrets for Highly Effective Practice” you will get the tools you need to take your practice to the next level. Grow exponentially and take control of your routine with effective practice.

Listen in as I break down the 7 secrets of highly effective practice, which I’ve been using for years and has never let me down!
